Women's Hockey Remains Perfect With 4-0 Win Over Rivier

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin women's hockey team extended its win streak to five with a 4-0 victory over visiting Rivier on Tuesday evening.
 
The Polar Bears are a perfect 5-0-0 on the season. The Raiders slide to 2-7-0.
 
Game Highlights
  • Bowdoin scored with two minutes remaining in the first period to make it 1-0. Meghan Britt took the puck deep in Rivier's left corner and found Jackie Miller on the near point. Miller fired a shot that Luna Lu deflected in the slot to find net.
  • With ten seconds remaining in the period the Polar Bears converted on their first power play of the game. Lu and Gia Massari cycled the puck before a finish by Ava Provenzo.
  • The Polar Bears added a third goal at 4:58 in the second. Luna Lu carried the puck toward net and drew the goalie allowing her to slip the puck right to Gia Massari. Massari converted on the open look.
  • Charlee Frankenfeld converted midway through the frame as the puck squirted up the slot and she put a shot back on goal through traffic.
 
 
By the Numbers
  • Both Frankenfeld and Provenzo notched their first collegiate goals in the game.
  • Sally Solotaroff-Webber recorded her fourth career shutout.
  • Bowdoin went 1-for-2 on the power play. Rivier was 0-for-1.
  • Bowdoin held a 42-9 shots on goal advantage.
  • The Polar Bears outpaced the Raiders 37-14 in the faceoff circle.
