Men's Hockey Nets Overtime Win Against Visiting Endicott

BRUNSWICK, Maine – Jack Barbro scored in overtime to lift the Bowdoin men's ice hockey team to 3-2 victory over nationally-ranked Endicott on Tuesday night.
 
The Polar Bears climb to 2-2-0 overall as the Gulls sit at 5-3-0.
 
Game Highlights
  • Scoring opportunities began to develop for both teams in the second period. Endicott turned a two-on-one into a chance for Brad Zona.
  • Richard Davis and the Polar Bears built a three-on-one, but Davis's shot six minutes into the frame rang off the pipe.
  • Bowdoin broke through midway through the period. Davis intercepted a pass in the Gulls' right corner and turned toward net. Davis tucked a quick wrister inside the far post.
  • The Polar Bears converted on a power play opportunity to open the third, scoring at 1:41. Aidan Lyons cycled the puck to Matt Roy on the left point who passed right to James Cerapak. Cerapak skated in and fired a shot from the top of the circle to make it 2-0.
  • Endicott found the net with a power play goal of their own at 11:02 off the stick of Dominic Garozzo.
  • The Gulls forced overtime with another power play goal with 3:26 remaining in the game. Primo Self went top left shelf for the equalizer.
  • Barbro came up with the overtime goal as he came from behind the goal and hooked the puck past Ryan Wilson as he slid to the ice.

  • Wilson made 28 saves for the Gulls
  • Jacob Osborne made 34 stops for his first collegiate win in net.
  • Endicott went 2-for-5 on the power play.
  • The Polar Bears were 1-for-5 on the power play.
  • Bowdoin held the narrowest edge in faceoffs with a 37-36 advantage.
