Men's Basketball Sinks Maine Maritime on Tuesday Afternoon

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College men's basketball team sprinted to an early lead and never looked back in a 78-33 win over Maine Maritime on Tuesday afternoon in Morrell Gymnasium. The Polar Bears continue their unbeaten start to the season, improving to 5-0 while the Mariners fall to 3-2.
 
Game Highlights
  • A pair of three-pointers from Will Logue sparked an early 8-0 run for the Polar Bears out of the gate, a lead that quickly pushed to double digits by five minutes into the opening half.
  • After MMA cut the lead to eight, Ray Cuevas nailed a pair of trifectas to key a 14-1 run that gave the Polar Bears a commanding 36-15 edge at the break.
  • The Mariners never got closer than that in the second half as Bowdoin kept pouring it on, shooting 56% in the final stanza to put the game out of reach.
By The Numbers
  • Ray Cuevas scored a game-high 18 points for Bowdoin, including 4-6 from long distance. Will Logue added 12 points and four assists.
  • James McGowan and Liam McBride finished with nine points each, while Justas Bardauskas and Matteo Cervone each led the Polar Bears with six boards.
  • Bowdoin hit 50% of their shots in the game, and assisted on 24 of 31 field goals while holding a 46-32 edge on the glass.
  • The Polar Bears held MMA to 20% shooting for the game.
