Men's Hockey Suffers 5-1 Loss At Colby

WATERVILLE, Maine – The Bowdoin men's ice hockey team suffered a 5-1 loss at Colby on Friday evening.
 
The Polar Bears sit at 1-2-0 on the season with a matching NESCAC record. The Mules climb to 2-1-0 (2-1-0 NESCAC).
 
Game Highlights
  • The Mules took the lead with 4:24 remaining in the first period. Ryan Moore saucered a pass up to Jayden Grier at the corner of the blue line. Grier skated in and sent a wrister from the circle into the net.
  • Colby struck 32 seconds into the second frame to take a 2-0 lead. Jake MacDonald put a shot on pads and Grier cleaned up the tight rebound on the right post.
  • Reese Farrell made it 3-0 with 5:15 remaining with a conversion from the right side.
  • Colby put a fourth goal on the board early in the third period and Bowdoin finally broke through at 6:04 in response. Will Rice scored his first collegiate goal with a cleaned-up rebound on the right post.
  • Farrell picked up his second of the night late in the third on an empty-netter.

  • Colby went 1-for-3 on the power play.
  • Bowdoin was 0-for-2 on the power play.
  • AJ DiChiara made 27 saves in 55 minutes of play. George McMichael made two stops in 3:43 minutes of action.
  • Cooper Rautenstrauch made 25 stops for Colby.
  • Colby held a 38-26 edge on the faceoff dot.
