Women's Basketball Coasts to Non-Conference Win Over Curry

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College women's basketball team jumped to a 26-point first quarter lead and coasted to a 73-37 win over Curry College on Thursday evening in Morrell Gymnasium. The Polar Bears move to 2-0 this season while the Colonels fall to 2-2.
 
Game Highlights
  • Maria Belardi got Bowdoin going with a three-pointer on the first possession of the contest, and sparked a game-opening 14-0 run.
  • Abbie Quinn scored seven points and Bowdoin connected on 62% of their shots in the frame, opening up a commanding 30-4 edge after one period.
  • Bowdoin led 44-21 at the break and held Curry to 16 second half points to close out the win.
By The Numbers
  • Every Polar Bear scored in the win, led by 13 from Sydney Jones and ten from Maria Belardi. Jones also had five assists, four rebounds, and three steals.
  • Abbie Quinn had nine points and Starlette Franklin also put home nine in the victory.
  • Rachel Storey had a team-high six rebounds as Bowdoin held a 44-24 edge on the glass.
  • Bowdoin held Curry to 26% from the field, forced 25 turnovers, and scored 27 points off turnovers in the victory.
