Men's Basketball Improves to 2-0 With Perfect Weekend at Regis

WESTON, Mass. – The Bowdoin College men's basketball team improved to 2-0 for the first time since 2021, completing a perfect opening weekend with a 71-53 win over Regis on day two of the Autism Acceptance Classic. The Polar Bears move to 2-0 while the Pride fall to 2-1.
 
Game Highlights
  • With the Polar Bears trailing 17-16 midway through the first half, a Will Logue lay-in gave Bowdoin the lead for good, sparking a 14-2 run that included three-pointers from James McGowan and Ray Cuevas.
  • Bowdoin carried a nine-point lead into halftime, 34-25, but put the contest out of reach with a 13-0 surge to start the second half.
  • Will Logue had seven points in the run and Will Cuevas knocked down a three-pointer to cap it, giving Bowdoin a 22-point lead, 47-25, just five minutes into the period.
  • The Polar Bears coasted from there as Regis could get no closer than 14 points for the remainder of the game.
By The Numbers
  • For the second straight game, a first-year paced the Polar Bears in scoring as Ray Cuevas scored 19 points with five rebounds, including four three-pointers in the win.
  • Will Logue finished with 12 points and six rebounds while James McGowan scored ten.
  • Kevin Reeves led Bowdoin with eight rebounds and also had three blocks.
  • Bowdoin ended at 45% shooting for the game and held Regis to 32% while scoring 21 second chance points.
