Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Huleatt and Iannone Clutch in 2-2 Tie at Amherst

AMHERST, Mass. – Kayley Huleatt scored two two goals and Charlotte Iannone made 13 saves to propel the Bowdoin women's soccer team to a 2-2 tie against Amherst on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Polar Bears are 2-6-6 and 1-6-2 NESCAC play. The Mammoths are 8-1-6 overall with a 4-1-4 conference record.
 
Game Highlights
  • The Mammoths took a 1-0 lead in the 11th minute. Previous Novidzro sent leading pass to the top of the box where Abby Schwartz ran on for a perfectly timed first touch. Schwartz worked her way toward goal and fired a low show to the far right side.
  • Bowdoin answered with under three minutes remaining in the first half. Emilia Tutun put a left side corner kick directly in front of the goal mouth. Huleatt was there to bang in the ball to even the game.
  • Huleatt put the Polar Bears ahead ten minutes into the second half with a successful penalty kick conversion.
  • Schwartz scored her second of the game to even the game in the 61st minute, working left to right deep in Bowdoin territory and putting away a cross cage shot.
By the Numbers
  • Iannone made a career-high 13 saves, including seven in the first half and six in the second.
  • Amherst held a 21-6 edge in shots with a 15-6 shots on goal advantage.
  • The Polar Bears earned six corner kicks and allowed nine.
