Men's Soccer Posts 4-1 Win At Trinity

HARTFORD, Conn. – The Bowdoin men's soccer team picked up a key conference win in a 4-1 game down at Trinity on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Polar Bears are 5-3-2 on the season with a 2-3-2 NESCAC record. The Bantams are winless in conference play (0-7-0) and 2-9-0 on the season.
 
Game Highlights
  • Bowdoin went ahead 1-0 in the 11th minute Tyler Huck received the ball at the top of the box and moved left before firing a left footed shot to the far side.
  • Tyler Huck scored his second goal just two minutes later. The 2-0 lead came as Huck buried a one-touched a flat cross from Carlton Steinberg.
  • Ian Spiro cut the lead in half in the 21st minute with a free kick from deep in Bowdoin territory.
  • Huck was set up with a beautiful cross from Adam Prince to score his third of the game. Huck put a midair touch on the ball in the box to send the keeper sprawling after a ball that quickly changed directions to the right post.
  • With 30 minutes off the clock, Bowdoin scored its fourth and final goal. Bowdoin's offense came streaking down the field with Arthur Dos Santos pushing the pace down the right wing. Dos Santos sent a long ball toward net and Mateo Pacelli got a slight touch on the shot to redirect for a goal.
 
By the Numbers
  • Bowdoin held an 11-8 edge in shots, but 8-3 shots on goal advantage.
  • Bowdoin lined up six corner kicks and never allowed one for the Bantams.
  • Alex Ainsworth played the first half and started the second before giving way to Jon Perez and Quinn Battagliese who each made one save.
