Field Hockey Collects NESCAC Victory at Trinity

HARTFORD, Conn. – The Bowdoin field hockey team returned to the win column with a 2-0 victory over host Trinity on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Polar Bears collect their second conference win of the season to sit at 4-7 overall and 2-5 in NESCAC play. The Bantams are winless in the NESCAC (0-6) and are 4-6 on the season.
 
Game Highlights
  • Bowdoin dominated statistically in the opening 30 minutes of play. The Polar Bears took 13 shots and allowed only two. Six of Bowdoin's shots were directed on net.
  • The Polar Bears finally broke through with 54 seconds left in the third quarter. On a penalty corner, Clara Noyes looked towards net and found Maddie Mrva for the final touch to make it 1-0.
  • Bowdoin gave itself an insurance goal minutes into the final frame. This time Caroline Higgins found Maya Malenfant for the tally.
 
By the Numbers
  • Bowdoin held a 26-6 edge in shots and 10-4 corner advantage.
  • Lauren O'Donald had a complete game shutout with one save in the final quarter.
  • Sydney Korkosz made ten saves in net for the Bantams.
