BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College volleyball team couldn't hold a two-set lead and lost a five-set decision to Middlebury on Friday night, 3-2. The Polar Bears fall to 8-6 (1-4 NESCAC) while the Panthers improve to 12-4 (6-0 NESCAC).
 
Match Highlights

• Middlebury took the win by set scores of 22-25, 19-25, 25-21, 25-19, 15-13.
• Tied at 2-2 heading into the decisive fifth, Bowdoin led 13-12 after a kill by Skye LaMendola.
• But Middlebury closed it out with a 3-0 run to clinch the set and the match on a kill by Devin McCormack.

By The Numbers

• Alison Smith had 18 kills to lead the Bowdoin offense, which got 12 apiece from Ashley Jazbec and Skye LaMendola.
• LaMendola had 16 digs while Maya White had a team-high 23.
• Smith and Haley Campau had three blocks each.
• Cameron Shelly led the Polar Bears with 33 assists.
