Men's Hockey Win Streak Snapped by Salve Regina

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin men's ice hockey team saw its five game win streak come to an end in a 7-3 nonconference loss to Salve Regina on Tuesday evening.
 
The Polar Bears are 8-3-1 on the season. The Seahawks climb to 11-3-1.
 
Game Highlights
  • After a back-and-forth opening period of hockey with no scoring, the teams unleashed the flood gates in the second period.
  • The Polar Bears scored first with a Richard Davis goal 54 seconds into action. The Seahawks trailed for less than two minutes before Jonathan Hammel netted a shorthanded tally.
  • Davis pushed Bowdoin back on top with a power play goal at 3:49, but again Salve Regina would find an equalizer a minute later.
  • The visitors took their first lead of the game late in the second off a goal from Parker Mabbett.
  • The Seahawks broke the game open in the third with a power play goal 37 seconds into the period and another goal three minutes later.
  • Trailing 5-2, Luke Wheeler pulled Bowdoin back within striking distance at 5:21.
  • Salve Regina scored two empty-net goals in the final three minutes of action.
