Camels and Polar Bears Tie 1-1 in Women's Hockey

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin and Connecticut College women's hockey teams played a second consecutive tie on Saturday afternoon with a final score of 1-1.
 
The Polar Bears are 6-5-2 (2-2-2 NESCAC). The Camels return home with a 5-3-4 (1-3-2 NESCAC) mark.
 
Game Highlights
  • Both goals came in the first period of action. The Camels struck first with a tally at 11:14. Charlotte Harris played the puck off the boards behind Bowdoin's net and found Casey Chesner. Chesner cycled to the low edge of the right faceoff circle and wristed a shot over the glove of Sally Solotaroff-Webber.
  • Bowdoin responded with 3:55 remaining in the period, converting on the power play. Sara Ito-Baghsaw controlled the puck along the right boards and sent a flat pass to Brett Stoddard in the slot. Stoddard finished the play with a quick release to make it 1-1.
  • Solotaroff-Webber denied several breakaway opportunities for the Camels to keep the game tied. The junior made five stops in overtime.

  • The Camels held a 22-16 advantage in faceoffs.
  • Solotaroff-Webber made 25 saves in net.
  • Devon Galizio made 19 stops for Connecticut.
  • Bowdoin stayed out of the penalty box and went 1-for-2 on the power play.
