Women's Hockey Secures 3-3 Tie Against Connecticut College

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin women's ice hockey team scored a late third period goal to force overtime and earn a 3-3 tie against Connecticut College on Friday night.

The Polar Bears (6-5-1, 2-2-1 NESCAC) erased a one-goal deficit twice during the game. The Camels (5-3-3, 1-3-1 NESCAC) swept Bowdoin in 2023, reversing a Polar Bear sweep in 2022.

Game Highlights
  • The Camels were on the board first with a goal just under seven minutes into action. Galen Kilfeather passed up ice to Alana Burm who raced along the right side boards. Burm slid a centering pass to Miyu Miyazaki who came down the slot for a wrister.
  • Bowdoin's first goal came four minutes later on the power play. The Camels cleared the puck all the way down to Sarah Peterson who corralled it and handed it over to Anyi Sun behind the net. Sun raced the length of the ice, directly through a pair of defenders, and buried a cross net goal.
  • Meghan Montanaro gave Bowdoin its firs lead of the game one minute into the second period. Brett Stoddard put a shot on pads and Montanaro put away the rebound.
  • Serena Seiple knotted the game at 2-2 at 5:00 with a wrister that hit the crossbar and deflected down.
  • Miyazaki gave the Camels the lead just 37 seconds later.
  • Kathryn Kester found an equalizer late in the third to force overtime. With just under three minutes remaining, Jackie Miller won a faceoff on the right dot and kicked the puck back to Kester. Kester drifted center and rifled a shot into net.
  • The two teams traded quality chances in overtime but neither team could find a game-winner.
