Women's Hoops Pulls Away Late To Earn Road Win at Emmanuel

BOSTON, Mass. – The Bowdoin College women's basketball team pulled away late for a 64-55 win over Emmanuel on Monday evening. The 12th-ranked Polar Bears improve to 18-1 on the year while the Saints fall to 8-9.
 
Game Highlights
  • Trailing after the first quarter, Bowdoin posted a strong second quarter to take a 33-25 lead at halftime.
  • Emmanuel stayed close throughout the third quarter and entered the fourth down by just three points, 47-44.
  • The Saints opened the final frame on a 7-3 surge and briefly took a one point lead, 51-50, following a three-pointer with 6:01 to go.
  • Bowdoin took control from there, replying with six straight points, capped by a layup from Callie Godfrey, to take a 57-51 lead with under three minutes remaining.
  • Godfrey scored six straight points in the closing minutes as the Polar Bears pulled away for the win.

  • NESCAC Player of the Week Sydney Jones posted a double-double with 13 points, 12 rebounds, three assists and two steals in the win.
  • Abbie Quinn was huge for Bowdoin, scoring 17 points with six boards and three blocks to lead all scorers.
  • Callie Godfrey finished with 13 points and seven rebounds while Carly Davey had nine points and five steals.
  • Bowdoin overcame a rough shooting night (30%) by allowing just one three-pointer to the Saints, winning the rebound battle 48-42, and forcing 19 Emmanuel turnovers.
