Field Hockey Flies Past Eagles on Saturday Night

BANGOR, Maine – Caroline Higgins scored a hattrick and the Bowdoin field hockey team cruised to a 5-1 win at Husson on Saturday evening.
 
The Polar Bears climb to 6-2 on the year and drop the Eagles to 3-3.
 
Game Highlights
  • Higgins scored the first of her three goals 8:50 into the game. The Polar Bears earned a corner and peppered the goalie with a pair of quick shots before Higgins finally broke through.
  • The Polar Bears converted two minutes later to make it 2-0 as Mackay Bommer fed Faith Jennings.
  • After a silent second quarter, Higgins scored 2:23 into the third. Jennings found Higgins for the 3-0 tally.
  • The Eagles answered with a goal just a minute later to make it 3-1.
  • Higgins capped the hattrick in the final minutes of the third quarter as she deflected in a shot off a corner.
  • Bowdoin's final goal came with six minutes remaining in the game as Sophia Rosati finished off a ball from Maddie Mrva.

  • Bowdoin held a 9-2 edge in shots on goal.
  • The Polar Bears took 13 offensive corners and allowed just one corner to the Eagles.
