WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Bowdoin field hockey team picked up an important NESCAC victory at Williams in a 2-1 Sunday matchup.

The Polar Bears return home with a 5-2 (2-2 NESCAC) record. The Ephs are 4-2 (1-1 NESCAC) on the season.

Game Highlights
  • The Polar Bears took an early lead as Maddie Mrva converted at 4:01. The Polar Bears earned a penalty corner following quick pressure in the circle. Georgie Coetzer fired a shot that was blocked by the defense during the initial corner play, but quickly found Mrva. Mrva drove the ball into the bottom right corner to make it 1-0.
  • Bowdoin carried its lead through the remainder of the first and second quarters. With 2:20 remaining in the third, Almira Arnold doubled the team's lead. The Polar Bears again earned a penalty corner with the resulting circle play finding the stick of Arnold.
  • With just over two minutes remaining in the game, Williams found the back of the net to make it 2-1. Kiki Higgins saw an initial shot turned aside by Julia Arsenault, but Meaghan Boehm was there to clean up the rebound.
