Connecticut College Rallies to Tip Bowdoin in Five-Setter

NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Connecticut College volleyball team rallied in the fourth set and pulled away in the fifth to complete a 3-2 comeback win over Bowdoin on Friday night. The Polar Bears fall to 4-3 (1-2 NESCAC) with the loss while the Camels move to x-x with their first win over Bowdoin since 2014.
 
Match Highlights
  • The Camels took the win by set scores of 25-11, 25-27, 24-26, 28-26, 15-7
  • Bowdoin rebounded from a first set loss to take close wins in both the second and third sets.
  • The Polar Bears led the fourth set 23-22, but the Camels rallied to take a 25-24 lead with a 3-1 surge. The teams traded points until a 26-26 tie when a Bowdoin service error and a kill by the Camels forced the decisive fifth.
  • In the fifth set, Conn College jumped to a 9-2 lead out of the gate en route to the win.
By The Numbers
  • Skye LaMendola and Lily Janas finished with 17 kills each for Bowdoin. LaMendola also had 14 digs to lead the team.
  • Ella Haugen had 43 assists and three aces for Bowdoin. Maya White had 11 digs and Kiley Keating had three aces.
  • The win snaps a seven-match winning streak by Bowdoin against the Camels, dating back to 2015.
