Women's Soccer Stays Unbeaten With Non-Conference Win Over Maine Maritime

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College women's soccer team got a second half goal from Nina Hashimoto to put away Maine Maritime Academy on Sunday afternoon on Pickard Field. The Polar Bears (3-0-2) remain unbeaten on the season while the Mariners (5-1-1) are dealt their first loss of the campaign.
 
Game Highlights
  • Bowdoin dominated throughout, but wasn't able to find the back of the net despite owning a 6-0 advantage in shots in the opening 45 minutes.
  • Early in the second half, with Maine Maritime possessing in its own half, Stephanie Christianson forced a turnover and collected the loose ball on the right win. She centered a pass to Hashimoto, who fired a low hard shot that MMA goaltender Isa Thesing couldn't handle, and the ball popped into the net for a 1-0 Polar Bear lead at 49:41.
  • Bowdoin continued to pressure the net, owning a 13-1 edge in shots in the second half, but couldn't add to their total as the held on to the victory.
