Volleyball Can't Rally From Early Deficit in Loss to Colby

WATERVILLE, Maine – The Bowdoin College volleyball team couldn't recover from a two-set deficit and saw their comeback come up short in a 3-1 loss at Colby on Saturday afternoon. The Polar Bears fall to 4-2 (1-1 NESCAC) while the Mules stand at 4-2 (2-0 NESCAC).
 
Match Highlights
  • Colby took the win by set scores of 25-16, 25-16, 20-25, 25-19.
  • Down 2-0, Bowdoin rallied in the third set with an 11-1 run midway through that spurred them to a 25-20 win.
  • The Polar Bears held an 18-16 lead in the fourth set, with eyes on forcing a fifth, but Colby answered with a 9-1 run to close out the match and clinch the victory.

  • Skye LaMendola had ten kills and 12 digs for Bowdoin in the loss while Lily Janas added eight kills.
  • Ella Haugen had 24 assists and Maya White had 20 digs, both team highs.
  • Bowdoin was victimized by 28 attack errors in the setback.
