Higgins Sets New Assist Record in Field Hockey Win Over USM

BRUNSWICK, Maine – Caroline Higgins set a new program record with five assists in a 6-0 Bowdoin field hockey win over the visiting University of Southern Maine on Tuesday evening.
 
The Polar Bears rebound to a 2-1 mark on the season as the Huskies sit at 3-2.
 
Game Highlights
  • Higgins scored just 1:38 into the game and the Polar Bears held a 1-0 lead through the next 20 minutes of play.
  • Higgins worked the right end line and found Maya Malenfant on the near post for a sweeping one-timer past the goalie.
  • A minute later, Sophia Rosati finished off a no-look Higgins feed in front of the net to make it 3-0.
  • Bowdoin's final three goals all came on corners. Higgins inserted on all the corners and Coetzer scored on direct shots into the cage. Faith Jennings tallied a stick-stop assist on the final goal.
