BRUNSWICK, Maine – Bowdoin senior
Angelina Mayers (Bound Brook, N.J.) has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Co-Softball Player of the Year in awards announced by the league on Thursday.
Mayers was also named First Team All-NESCAC and becomes the second player from Bowdoin to earn NESCAC Player of the Year honors, joining Julia Geaumont in 2015. Mayers helped the Polar Bears earn the No. 5 seed in the NESCAC Softball Championship.
The senior led the NESCAC in OPS (1.335) and RBI (48), tied for a conference-high with 14 home runs, which was a new Polar Bear single-season record, and ranked second in the league in runs scored (45). Mayers recorded a team-high 51 hits and finished the year hitting .412 while slugging .843.
