Men's Lacrosse Cruises To Tuesday Win Over Emerson

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College men's lacrosse team scored a season-high 26 goals in a Tuesday night non-conference win over Emerson College. The tenth-ranked Polar Bears, winners of four straight, improve to 10-3 on the season with the victory.

Game Highlights
  • Despite the blowout differential, it was Emerson who got on the board first, scoring 2:50 into the contest from Jack Burns. 
  • It was all Bowdoin from there, as the Polar Bears rolled off seven straight goals and led 8-3 after one quarter.
  • Bowdoin extended its lead to 16-4 at halftime thanks to an 8-1 advantage in the second quarter and outscored the Lions 10-5 in the second half to cruise to the win.
By The Numbers
  • The Polar Bears have scored 20+ goals in four straight games, marking the first time in school history that Bowdoin has achieved the feat. The previous mark of three straight games with 20+ goals occured twice, in 2022 and 1979. 
  • Twelve different Bowdoin players scored, led by five goals from Patrick Fitzgerald and four apiece from Will Byrne and Jason Lach. Byrne also had two assists. 
  • Will Lesko, Will Pappendick, AJ McBorrough, and Alex Byrne all tallied their first career goals for Bowdoin in the win.
  • Peter Kenerson led Bowdoin with eight ground balls while Nate Ryan had two caused turnovers.
  • Robert Hobbs made six saves through three quarters for Bowdoin before giving way to Hunter Steele, who stopped one shot in the fourth.
  • Bowdoin owned a 59-27 edge in shots and held Emerson to 0-7 with the extra man
