Women's Tennis Falls in Tight Loss to Nationally-Ranked Tufts

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College women's tennis team returned from California break to a pair of hard-fought losses to nationally-ranked NESCAC opponents. With the decisions, the 17th-ranked Polar Bears fall to 1-7 this season.
 
Match Highlights
  • The Polar Bears suffered a 9-0 setback to fourth-ranked Wesleyan on April 1 and then took a 6-3 setback to eighth-ranked Tufts on April 7.
  • Bowdoin took a 2-1 lead against the Jumbos after doubles play as Cara Hung/Jamilah Karah (8-4) and Kennedi Carter/Hannah Buckhout (8-6) earned wins at the top two positions.
  • The Polar Bears could only muster one win in singles action, though, as Tufts rallied to win.
  • Cara Hung accounted for that win, taking a 6-3, 6-3 win at number six singles.

  • The Polar Bears will look to bounce back with a busy week ahead, as they host Bates (Tuesday, 3:30), Williams (Saturday, 2:00) and Middlebury (Sunday, 2:00) in the next six days.
