Men's Tennis Can't Rally in Singles in Loss to Tufts

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College men's tennis team suffered a 5-4 loss to fourth-ranked Tufts University at Maine Pines on Saturday afternoon. The loss drops the 12th-ranked Polar Bears to 8-2 this spring.

  • Bowdoin fell behind 2-1 in doubles play but almost rallied in singles play to claim the victory.
  • The lone Polar Bear doubles win was the top duo of Tristan Bradley/Reid Staples, who won an 8-5 decision.
  • Bowdoin got straight-set wins from Ethan Bradley (6-3, 6-3) and Evan Fortier (6-2, 6-2) in singles action and Tristan Bradley earned a 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 win at number one singles to tie the match at 4-4.
  • In the final match of the day, Vuk Vuksanovic of Tufts and Reid Staples battled at number two singles, with Tufts prevailing 4-6. 6-3, 6-4 to earn the win.
