BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College men's tennis team got its 2023 spring campaign off to a rousing start, defeating Amherst and Hamilton in consecutive days last weekend. With the wins, the 14^th-ranked Polar Bears stand at 2-0 this season.
 
Weekend Highlights

• The Polar Bears defeated 15^th-ranked Amherst 6-3 and unranked Hamilton 8-1 in weekend action.
• Against Amherst, Bowdoin got ahead early with a pair of doubles wins courtesy of Tristan Bradley/Reid Staples (8-4) and Pieter Breuker/Ethan Bradley (8-3).
• Bowdoin clinched the win with straight-set singles wins from Tristan Bradley and Mark Kneiss, as well as a second set retirement to give Pieter Breuker a win at number three singles.
• Reid Staples also recorded a comeback win at number two (2-6, 6-2, 6-2).
• Against Hamilton, Bowdoin swept all six singles matches after winning two of three in doubles play.
• Tristan Bradley, Staples, Breuker, Kneiss, and Ethan Bradley netted straight-set wins at the top five singles spots while Jack Flores won 3-6, 6-4, 10-7 at number six.
