ORANGE, Calif. – The Bowdoin College men's tennis team cruised to a pair of wins to open their California trip on Monday. The Polar Bears defeated Chapman 8-1 before dispatching Rhodes 9-0 to improve to 4-0 overall this season.
 
Match Highlights

• Against Chapman Bowdoin took a 3-0 lead with a trio of doubles wins from Tristan Bradley/Reid Staples (8-6), Ethan Bradley/Pieter Breuker (8-5) and Jack Flores/Andrew Mendelson (8-5).
• In singles play, the Polar Bears got straight-set wins from Tristan Bradley, Reid Staples, Mark Kneiss and Evan Fortier to clinch the victory.
• In the evening match against Rhodes, Bowdoin cruised to a shutout win, sprinting to a doubles lead with wins from Ethan Bradley/Breuker (8-1), Kneiss/Fortier (8-2) and Sujan Garapati/Mick Tamas (8-3).
• Breuker, Mendelson, Fortier, Tamas, Garapati, and Geoffrey Golan closed out the day with singles wins.

• Bowdoin is scheduled to play at the University of Redlands on Tuesday, weather permitting, with two matches slated for Wednesday against Whitman and Westcliff.
