Men's Tennis Bounces Redlands and Pomona in Consecutive Days

CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Bowdoin College men's tennis team closed out its first week of spring break with a pair of wins over nationally-ranked opponents to remain a perfect 5-0 on the young season. The 12th-ranked Polar Bears defeated 25th-ranked University of Redlands and 18th-ranked Pomona Pitzer in consecutive days.

  • In their tightest match of the trip so far, Bowdoin took a 2-1 lead following doubles play thanks to wins from Tristan Bradley/Staples (8-1) and Breuker/Ethan Bradley (8-5).
  • In singles play, Tristan Bradley and Mark Kneiss took quick wins to put Bowdoin on the brink of the win.
  • Ethan Bradley closed it out, rallying from a 4-3 second set deficit to take a 6-3, 6-4 win to clinch it for the Polar Bears.

  • Bowdoin will enjoy an off weekend before a busy flurry of action to close out their trip. The Polar Bears will face ninth-ranked Johns Hopkins and 13th-ranked CalTech on Tuesday before battling second-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Wednesday.
