BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College women's lacrosse team rolled to a season-opening 17-9 triumph over Roger Williams on Sunday afternoon at Ryan Field. The Polar Bears stand at 1-0 this season while the Hawks fall to 2-1.
 
Game Highlights

• The teams played a tight first quarter, with Bowdoin holding a slim 4-2 edge after one period thanks to a late goal by Emelia Krakora.
• The Polar Bears took complete command in the second quarter, rolling off six straight goals, outscoring the Hawks 10-2, and pushing the game into running time before the break, holding a 14-3 lead at halftime.
• Bowdoin cruised in the second half, getting goals from Lauren Burke, Fiona Bundy and Colleen McAloon to secure the win.

• Colleen McAloon led Bowdoin with a five-point effort, scoring three goals with two assists.
• Fiona Bundy and Sophia Sudano had four goals apiece.
• Sophia Schaefer led Bowdoin with four draws, Bundy and Corsetti had three ground balls each, and Ainsley Ramsey had a pair of caused turnovers in the winning effort.
• Izzy Cisneros made two saves in 30 minutes of play before giving way to Sophie Brett (one save) and Sophia Rutman (three saves) in the second half.
