MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Bowdoin College men's squash team ended their 2022-23 campaign with a flourish, going 3-0 this weekend at the College Squash Nationals to claim the Conroy Cup Division crown and finish 25
th in the nation. The wins over Fordham, Wesleyan and Dickinson give the Polar Bears a season-ending record of 8-13 and win their first divisional crown at nationals since also claiming the Conroy Cup in 2018.
Weekend Highlights
- The Polar Bears easily dispatched their opponents over the course of the weekend, totaling a cumulative record of 24-3 in the three matches.
- Bowdoin defeated Fordham in their opener, 9-0, losing just one game across the nine matches. Jack Winston, Deven Kanwal, Henry Somerby, Aryan Singh, Nick Wilkinson, Jackson Rho, Abhiroop Reddy, Joseph French and Justin Barr each earned points for the Polar Bears in the victory.
- The Polar Bears followed it up with an 8-1 triumph over Wesleyan, with Winston, Kanwal, Somerby, Singh, Rho, French, Barr and Edwardo Perez taking wins.
- In the finals on Sunday morning, Dickinson claimed a pair of early points, but Bowdoin dominated the late matches to pull away for a 7-2 victory. Winston completed his perfect weekend at #1 while Somerby, Wilkinson, Rho, Reddy, French and Barr rounded out the win for Bowdoin.
