Track & Field Teams Wrap Home Campaign With Lynn Ruddy Invitational

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin track & field team came away with several first-places finishes in their final home meet of the season Saturday, the Lynn Ruddy Invitational at Farley Field House. The Polar Bears celebrated 21 seniors at the event, which included competitors from Bates, Colby, Maine-Farmington, Fitchburg State, Thomas, and Suffolk.
 
Men's Meet Highlights
  • William Warlick (8.47) and Kane Demers (8.65) went 1-2 in the 60m Hurdles. It marked a season-best for Warlick and personal best for Kane, moving him into 7th on Bowdoin's all-time list.  
  • Nick Sibiryakov won the pole vault with a personal best height of 4.60m.
  • Cheng Xing won the long jump with a distance of 6.66 Meters.
  • Other top showings included Dom Acquista placing 3rd in the shot with a massive PR throw of 14.05m, Ben Bockmann taking 3rd in 3K with a personal record of 8:47.47, qualifying for NE DIIIs, and Will Goddard earning 4th in the Mile qualifying for the NE DIIIs with a time of 4:26.53.
Women's Meet Highlights
  • The women's team dominated the field events, including a 1-2 finish for Emma Hargreaves (15.76m) and Jada Scotland (13.63m) in the weight throw. Hargreaves also won the shot put with a distance of 11.40m.
  • Bowdoin also went 1-2 in the pole vault thanks to Charlotte Hodge (3.60m) and Sophie Maguire (3.30m).
  • Jenna Albanese won the LJ with a distance of 5.24m, a season best and NED3 qualifying standard.
  • On the track, Bowdoin claimed the top two spots in the 5k with Jane Hirschman (19:32.13) and Anna Leitner (19:49.81) both posting season-best times, while Angela McKenzie won the 1000m with a time 3:30.83.
  • Other strong showings included Gabby Phillips (2nd, 400m) with a NE DIII Qualifying time of 1:00.96, Catherine Uwakwe (2nd, 200m) with a personal best of 27.18, Claire Wyman (3rd, 3000m) with a season-best 11:03.25, and Fiona Gallagher (4th, 800m) with a personal best of 2:29.65.
