AMHERST, Mass. – The Amherst College women's basketball team jumped to a big first-quarter lead and held off Bowdoin in a 64-45 victory in both team's regular-season finale on Saturday afternoon. The Mammoths improve to 17-7 (5-5 NESCAC) while the Polar Bears finish at 15-9 (4-6 NESCAC). With the result, Bowdoin has earned the eighth seed in the upcoming NESCAC Tournament.

• Amherst shot 50% from the field and out-rebounded Bowdoin 14-4 in the opening quarter, sprinting to a 23-11 lead.
• The Mammoths extended their advantage to 42-24 at halftime.
