Late Goals Sink Women's Hockey at Trinity

HARTFORD, Conn. – The Bowdoin women's hockey team gave up a game-tying goal in the final 64 seconds of regulation and fell in overtime at Trinity on Friday night.
 
The Polar Bears are 7-13-2 (2-13-1 NESCAC). The Bantams climb to 10-10-0 (4-9-0 NESCAC).
 
Game Highlights
  • Anyi Sun put the Polar Bears on the board with less than four minutes to play in the first period. Sun collected the puck off the left boards at the corner of the blue line. Sun made a contested charge toward net and got a stride behind the defender. Sun handled the puck and ultimately put it past Hannah Leclair.
  • Trinity forced overtime with a shorthanded goal with 1:04 remaining in regulation. Jelani Adorno put the puck in off a pass from Stephanie Nevers.
  • Adorno recorded the assist on the game-winner that came at 3:10 off the stick of Jenny Guider on a power play goal.
 
By the Numbers
  • Bowdoin went 0-for-4 on the power play.
  • Trinity was 1-for-2 on the power play.
  • Sally Solotaroff-Webber made 36 saves in the game.
  • Leclair stopped 49 shots for Trinity.
