Women's Hoops Earns Big NESCAC Road Win at Hamilton

CLINTON, N.Y. - The Bowdoin College women's basketball team held off a late Hamilton rally to earn a big 61-51 conference road win on Friday night. The Polar Bears move to 15-8 (4-5 NESCAC) while the Continentals fall to 11-10 (4-5 NESCAC). 

Game Highlights
  • After an early 3-0 lead from Hamilton, the Polar Bears got hot and used a 14-3 run, capped by a lay-in from Emily Collins to take a commanding first quarter lead.
  • Bowdoin knocked down a trio of three-pointers in the second quarter and pushed their halftime advantage to 33-23.
  • Hamilton cut the lead to seven points at the end of three quarters, 43-36, and opened the fourth quarter on a 7-3 surge to trim the Bowdoin edge to 46-43 with 6:06 to go. 
  • Consecutive jumpers by Tori Beck and Sydney Jones settled the Polar Bears and sparked 10-0 game-deciding run for Bowdoin, pushing the lead back to double figures with under four minutes to go.

  • Bowdoin finished at 31% shooting and held Hamilton to 32% while forcing 16 turnovers. 
  • The Polar Bears got a stellar showing from Sydney Jones, who ended with 23 points and seven rebounds.
  • Sela Kay scored 12 points while Annie Boasberg led all players with 11 rebounds.
  • Tori Beck pitched in eight points off the bench for Bowdoin, who owned a 46-39 edge on the glass and went 13-15 from the free throw line.
