WATERVILLE, Maine – The Bowdoin men's swimming & diving team came away with third place out of seven teams at the Maine State Meet over the weekend.
 
Bowdoin compiled 732.50 points to finish behind Colby and Bates.
 
Meet Highlights

• The Polar Bears opened the meet with a win in the 200 free relay. Rhys Edwards, Micah Sher, Raphael Grand'Pierre, and Steve Ward combined for a 1:22.36 to set the tone for Bowdoin.
• Grand'Pierre finished in the top-three in the 500 fly (23.12) to earn 16 points for the team.
• Bowdoin gained momentum as swimmers finished second through fourth in the 200 IM. Dylan Zhang, Jaran Depew, and Liam Roehr finished with times of 1:27.63, 1:27.79. and 1:28.33 respectively.
• Bowdoin's entry into the mixed 400 medley relay finished second with a time of 3:37.50. Ella Martin, Dylan Zhang, Tatum Zupnik, and Steve Ward combined for the silver. No points were awarded for the event.
• The men took four of the top five spots in the 400 IM. Brim Peabody paced the Polar Bears at 4:10.26, followed by Joram Kim (4:11.50), Roehr (4:12.52), and Eric Degodny (4:13.62).
• Kim added a first-place finish to the weekend's results, winning the 200 free by over a second, with a time of 1:43.30.
• Roehr climbed the individual rankings with a 1:52.58 in the 200 backstroke for second.
• Depew added win in the 200 butterfly (1:51.76) to the point tally for Bowdoin.
• Zhang also posted a top finish in the 100 yard IM with a time of 51.58.
• Nieman Macombe came away with points in the 1 meter diving event, posting a score of 258.20 for second place.
• Bowdoin concluded the meet with a third-place finish in the 400 free relay. Depew, Edwards, Grand'Pierre, and Ward combined for a 3:05.95.
