GALLATIN, Tenn. – The Bowdoin College women's basketball team used a dominant defensive effort to run away from Kenyon College, 69-38, on Friday evening at the Music City Classic in Tennessee.
The Polar Bears improve to 9-1 this season while the Owls fall to 2-9.
Game Highlights
- Bowdoin jumped to an 18-8 lead after one quarter of play and maintained a double-digit advantage through most of the second period, carrying a 32-21 lead into halftime.
- The Polar Bears put the contest out of reach with a 22-6 margin in the third quarter, holding the Owls to just two made field goals, including one with 41 seconds left in the period.
- Bowdoin entered the fourth quarter with a 54-27 edge and led by as many as 34 points on their way to the win.

- Sydney Jones led all players with 18 points on 7-12 shooting while Carley Davey and Callie Godfrey added 12 apiece.
- Godfrey added four steals and two blocks while Maria Belardi had seven points, seven rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
- Bowdoin owned a 40e-33 edge in rebounding and scored 30 points off 23 Owls turnovers.
- Bowdoin finished at 39% shooting for the game while holding Kenyon to 27%, including 0-12 from three-point range.
