Polar Bears Post Two-Win Weekend With Victory Over New England College

WATERVILLE, Maine – The Bowdoin men's ice hockey team came away with a pair of wins to sweep the weekend of play at the Colby Bowdoin Classic with Sunday's 2-1 victory over New England College.

The Polar Bears win their third straight game and improve to 3-1-0. The Pilgrims are 2-6-1 on the year.

Game Highlights
  • Jack Gilligan put Bowdoin on the board just three minutes into the second period. Gilligan polished off a feed from Luke Wheeler to make it 1-0.
  • Midway through the final frame, Jack Studley scored what proved to be the game-winner. Will Killoran found PJ Neal who set up Studley for the 2-0 lead.
  • New England College cut the lead in half three minutes later, but couldn't complete the comeback. A late penalty on the Pilgrims meant they could not pull their goalie until less than a minute remained in the game.
