CASTINE, Maine – The Bowdoin men's basketball team couldn't overcome cold shooting in a 55-54 loss to Maine Maritime on Sunday. The Polar Bears fall to 1-4 with the loss while the Mariners move to 2-2.

• The Polar Bears led by as many as five, and still maintained a 51-48 lead with under three minutes to play.

• Michael Simonds scored 16 points but it wasn't enough as the Polar Bears shot 28% from the field, including 5-26 (19%) from long distance.
• Alex Halpern had 12 points, Afamdi Achufusi had 11 and Kevin Reeves finished with nine points and 13 rebounds for Bowdoin.
