Men's Basketball Drops Second Game of Season at Emmanuel

BOSTON, Mass. – The Bowdoin College men's basketball team couldn't get on track in an 81-60 road loss to Emmanuel on Sunday afternoon. The Polar Bears fall to 0-2 while the Saints improve to 1-1.
 
Game Highlights
  • Emmanuel shot 51% from the field, including 6-9 from long distance, to take a 12-point lead into the break, 39-27.
  • Bowdoin was able to cut the lead to seven points early in the second half, opening the period on a 5-0 run, and getting an and-1 from Afamdi Achufusi to make it 39-32.
  • But the Saints answered with a quick 7-0 run of their own, pushing the lead into double figures where it would stay for the remainder of the contest.
By The Numbers
  • Bowdoin struggled from the field, shooting just 32% for the game and 16% (4-24) from three-point range.
  • Achufusi was the lone Polar Bear in double figures, scoring 11 points with five rebounds.
  • Kevin Reeves led Bowdoin with seven rebounds as the Polar Bears won the rebounding battle 43-34, but were victimized by 17 turnovers in the loss.
