Polar Bears Convert on PK to Topple Trinity

BRUNSWICK, Maine – Stephanie Christianson's second-half penalty kick goal provided the Bowdoin women's soccer team with all the offense it would need in a 1-0 victory against Trinity.
 
The Polar Bears improve to 6-2-2 (3-1-1 NESCAC). The Bantams are 5-3-3 (3-2-2 NESCAC).
 
Game Highlights
  • Bowdoin controlled the opening half of play. Trinity's Mariana Cournoyer was forced to make four saves in just the first ten minutes of action.
  • The Polar Bears held a commanding 11-2 edge in total shots during the first 45 minutes.
  • Trinity flipped the script in the second half and outshot Bowdoin 10-2.
  • During one of Bowdoin's drives into the Trinity box, Stephanie Christianson earned a penalty kick. The sophomore successfully converted on the opportunity and put the ball beyond the outstretched hand of Cournoyer.
