Cold Fourth Quarter Trips Up Women's Hoops at Trinity

HARTFORD, Conn. – The Bowdoin College women's basketball team went cold from the field in the fourth quarter of a 49-43 loss at Trinity on Saturday afternoon. In a battle of nationally-ranked squads, the 22nd-ranked Bantams (13-1, 2-0 NESCAC) rallied from a ten-point fourth quarter deficit to edge the 25th-ranked Polar Bears (10-3, 1-1 NESCAC).
 
Game Highlights
  • Bowdoin led throughout the contest, including 28-18 at halftime and by as many as 12 points in the third quarter.
  • Entering the final period trailing 41-31, the Bantams scored eight quick points to trim the lead to 41-39 with seven minutes to go.
  • Bowdoin scored its lone basket of the quarter to go up 43-39 with 6:08 to go, but went scoreless from there, missing their final seven shots as Trinity closed the contest on a 10-0 run.

  • In a defensive battle, Bowdoin finished at 28% shooting following their 1-13 shooting in the fourth quarter while Trinity ended at 32% from the field.
