Continentals Shut Out Men's Hockey

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin men's ice hockey team suffered a 6-0 setback at home against Hamilton on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Polar Bears collect only their second loss of the season and sit at 8-2-1 (4-2-1 NESCAC). The Continentals make it a 1-1-0 weekend and leave Maine 6-6-0 (4-3-0 NESCAC).
 
Game Highlights
  • Hamilton's first of three opening period goals came just 1:21 into play. Fred Allaire drew the goalie towards the right post and dished a pass left to Sean McAvoy. McAvoy had an open look from the far side.
  • Two minutes later, Owen Luft fired a shot from the right side that hit Alex Kozic in the shoulder and flipped up and over into the net.
  • At 7:58 the Continentals made it 3-0. Max Bulawka won the faceoff on the left dot and kicked the puck out to Alex Danis. Danis fed Max Wutzke at the point for a slapshot that sailed into the net.
  • The Continentals scored three more goals in the second period to put the game out of reach.

  • The teams combined for 14 total penalties.
  • Bowdoin went 0-for-4 on the power play.
  • Hamilton was 0-for-6 on the power play.
  • Jack Grant earned the shutout, stopping all 28 shots he faced.
  • Alex Kozic suffered the loss and AJ DiChiara made 15 saves in relief.
