Track & Field Teams Travel to Boston For New England Small College Invite

BOSTON, Mass. – The Bowdoin College track & field teams traveled to the TRACK at new balance in Boston on Sunday for the highly-competitive New England Small College Invitational.
 
Meet Highlights
  • The women's team had a pair of first-place finishes at the non-scoring meet, including Charlotte Hodge in the pole vault (3.7m) and Kianne Benjamin in the 200m (25.21). Both marks rank in the top-20 nationally.
  • Benjamin's 200 time was a new program record, breaking the mark set by Brittney McKinley in 2020. Benjamin also finished second in the 60m (7.70).
  • Jared Joyce led the men's team with a third-place showing in the 400m (49.80), the fourth-fastest time in program history in the event.
  • First-year Lars Sorom was fifth in the 800m (1:54.88), posting the sixth-fastest time in school history.
  • In the jumps, Justin Whitney was fifth in the triple jump (13.18m) while Kane Demers was fifth in the long jump (6.46m).

  • Next week is Maine State Championship weekend for the Polar Bears, as the teams will travel to Bates for the state meet on Saturday at noon.
