MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The Bowdoin men's and women's swimming and diving teams traveled to Middlebury for a midwinter dual meet with the Panthers on Saturday.
The women came away victorious with a winning score of 173.5-126.5. The men fell 171-128.
Women's Meet Highlights
- The Polar Bears opened the meet with a win in the 200 medley relay. Ella Martin, Anna Roberts, Tatum Zupnik, and Ella Riccio combined for a time of 1:47.18.
- Erin Lamping won the 1000 free with a time of 11:07.08, followed by teammate Liz Perot (11:09.99) in second.
- Elizabeth Walsh (5:04.86) and Lamping (5:26.90) finished first and second in the 500 free. Walsh also collected a victory in the 200 IM (2:07.23).
- Bowdoin went one-two in the 200 free as Walsh took the win (1:55.75) and Carolyn Casey was second (1:57.14).
- Martin captured a victory in the 100 backstroke (59.13) and
- Roberts had top finishes in both the 100 (1:06.76) and 200 breaststroke (2:24.32).
- Brynn Wright touched first in the 200 butterfly (2:09.06) and 100 (59.54).
- Riccio had a strong 50 free performance to earn the win with a time of 24:78.
- Liv Smith raced to a first place finish in the 200 backstroke (2:08.39).
- Martin, Roberts, Zupnik, and Riccio again combined for a relay win in the 200 free (1:38.86).
Men's Meet Highlights
- The men opened the meet with a 200 medley relay victory with a time of 1:34.30. Jack Tran, Alex Grand'Pierre, Penn Lee, and Steve Ward teamed up for the win.
- Tran returned to the top of the leaderboard with a time of 52.29 in the 100 backstroke.
- Grand'Pierre continued a strong breaststroke season, earning the win with three seconds of cushion in the 100 (57.35) and 200 (2L09.43). Grand'Pierre also picked up the top spot in the 50 free (22.32).
- Nieman Mocombe won the 1-meter with a score of 275.55.
- Dylan Zhang earned a top finish in the 200 IM (1:57.04).
