Torrid First Half Gives Middlebury Men's Hoops Win Over Bowdoin

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Middlebury College men's basketball team knocked down 12 three-pointers en route to an 80-60 win over Bowdoin on Friday night. The Panthers, ranked 13th nationally, improve to 12-2 (2-1 NESCAC) while Bowdoin stands at 6-9 (0-3 NESCAC).
 
Game Highlights
  • Middlebury took command with torrid first half shooting, going 61% from the field and 7-12 from three-point range to build a 48-26 advantage.
  • The Panthers took a 9-2 lead in the opening two minutes and, after Bowdoin closed to within one point, 14-13, with 13:02 to go, answered with a 11-0 run to push the lead to double digits.
  • The Polar Bears were within striking distance, trailing by just eight points with eight minutes left in the opening half, but Middlebury closed the period on a 20-6 run to create their halftime cushion.
  • Bowdoin picked up the pace in the second half, but could get no closer than 17 points.
