BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Middlebury College men's basketball team knocked down 12 three-pointers en route to an 80-60 win over Bowdoin on Friday night. The Panthers, ranked 13
th nationally, improve to 12-2 (2-1 NESCAC) while Bowdoin stands at 6-9 (0-3 NESCAC).
Game Highlights
- Middlebury took command with torrid first half shooting, going 61% from the field and 7-12 from three-point range to build a 48-26 advantage.
- The Panthers took a 9-2 lead in the opening two minutes and, after Bowdoin closed to within one point, 14-13, with 13:02 to go, answered with a 11-0 run to push the lead to double digits.
- The Polar Bears were within striking distance, trailing by just eight points with eight minutes left in the opening half, but Middlebury closed the period on a 20-6 run to create their halftime cushion.
- Bowdoin picked up the pace in the second half, but could get no closer than 17 points.

- James McGowan and Alex Halpern scored 11 points each in the loss for Bowdoin.
- Bowdoin was outrebounded by a 42-25 margin, as the Panthers scored 16 second chance points.
- Middlebury ended at 48% shooting compared to 42% for Bowdoin as the Panthers went 12-24 from three-point range to Bowdoin's 4-16.
