Field Hockey Cruises to Midweek Win Over UMaine-Farmington

BRUNSWICK, Maine – Lily Clifford scored a hat-trick and four different players scored as the Bowdoin field hockey team cruised to a 7-0 victory over the University of Maine-Farmington.
 
The Polar Bears improve to 5-3 on the season, while the Beavers drop to 1-5.
 
Game Highlights
  • Bowdoin scored a pair of goals in the first 3:30. Georgie Coetzer converted off a corner with a feed from Caroline Higgins and Sophia Rosati finished off a pass from Maya Malenfant.
  • Ella Ferrucci added another goal in the final three minutes of the first quarter.
  • Alicia Bridges kept Bowdoin off the board in the second quarter, including a penalty stroke save five minutes in.
  • Clifford scored a pair of goals in the first six minutes of the third quarter and another in the first two minutes of the fourth. Olivia Cunningham, who assisted on Clifford's second goal, scored the last goal of the third quarter.
 
By the Numbers
  • Bridges made 19 saves in net for the Beavers and Emma Willey had a defensive save.
  • All three Bowdoin keepers saw time in net. Julia Arsenault got the start and played the first quarter. Delaney Bashaw played the second and third quarters. Lauren O'Donald played the final 15 minutes.
  • Bowdoin did not allow a shot or penalty corner. The Polar Bears earned 14 corners.
