BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin women's soccer team dropped a hard fought 1-0 NESCAC game to Williams on Sunday afternoon.
The Polar Bears (6-2-0, 2-2-0 NESCAC) were denied a two-win weekend by the Ephs (5-2-0, 4-1-0 NESCAC) who leave Maine with a pair of victories.
Game Highlights
- Bowdoin outshot the Ephs 7-3 in the first half with a composed defense that shut down any Williams attack before it could materialize.
- The Ephs most promising look came in the first minute as Shae Rashoff fired a shot from outside the box that forced Alex Arndt to elevate and punch the ball up and over the crossbar.
- Williams broke through in the 58th minute after capitalizing on a recovering Bowdoin defense. Blakeley Buckingham weaved her way around a pair of sprinting defenders to earn an uncontested look at goal. Buckingham skipped a shot to the far right post to net the game's lone goal.
- Bowdoin made an offensive push in the final minute, but watched as Rachael Peacock's header drifted wide.

- Despite Bowdoin holding an overall 13-10 shot advantage, the Ephs held a 6-2 edge in shots on goal.
- Both teams earned two corner kicks in the first half and Williams added another two in the second.
