Bowdoin Extends Win Streak with 4-1 Victory Over USM

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin men's soccer team remained undefeated with a 4-1 win over the University of Southern Maine on Tuesday afternoon.

The Polar Bears climb to 3-0-0 and handed the Huskies (2-1-2) their first loss of the season.

Game Highlights
  • USM struck first with a tally in the 18th minute. Noah Perry looked to make a cross from the right side and ended up with the ball back at his own feet. Perry took the deflection and fired a left footed shot to the top left corner.
  • Bowdoin responded exactly five minutes later. Charlie Ward stripped a defender and found Ronaldo Cabral at the top of the box. Cabral took two steps and put the ball away.
  • Bowdoin took the lead with four minutes remaining in the half. An errant pass in USM's backfield was picked off by Temi Agunloye who found Cabral. Cabral made one move around a sliding goalie and made it 2-1.
  • Cabral added an assist to the scoresheet in the 84th minute, taking a low angle shot that glanced off the gloves of Hayes Estrella. The ball continued moving across the goal face for Ward to quickly connect with and make it 3-1.
  • Dylan Reid scored his first goal of the season two minutes later. The play began with a corner kick by Cabral that went to the opposite right side. The ball deflected off Ward and to the foot of Reid for a one-timer volley.
