Women's Tennis Drops Pair of NESCAC Road Matches To End Regular Season

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The Bowdoin College women's tennis team couldn't overcome a pair of hard-fought road matches against nationally-ranked NESCAC opponents this weekend, falling to both Williams and Middlebury to conclude their regular season with a record of 7-9.

Weekend Highlights
  • Bowdoin battled, but dropped 6-3 decisions to both the Ephs and Panthers in consecutive days.
  • Against Williams, the Polar Bears got a crucial doubles point with an 8-7 win from Hannah Buckhout and Elizabeth Yu at number two, but could only claim two singles wins in the eventual setback.
  • Fleming Landau won a 7-6, 6-1 decision at number four singles, followed by Buckhout winning 6-3, 5-7, 11-9 at number three.
  • Bowdoin found itself in the same situation Sunday at Middlebury, trailing 2-1 following doubles play thanks to a win from Jamilah Karah/Fleming Landau at number one, 8-6.
  • Landau won her second singles match of the weekend (6-2, 6-1) at number five and Karah claimed a 6-2, 3-6, 10-6 win at number one to account for the Polar Bear wins.
