Women's Tennis Drops in NESCAC Quarterfinals to Tufts

AMHERST, Mass. – The Bowdoin College women's tennis team couldn't overcome Tufts in singles play, falling to the Jumbos 5-2 in the quarterfinals of the New England Small College Athletic Conference Tournament on Friday afternoon at Amherst College. The Polar Bears fall to 7-10 on the season with the loss.
 
Match Highlights
  • Bowdoin was able to stay within striking distance of the Jumbos following doubles play, thanks to a hard-fought 8-5 win at number two from Elizabeth Yu and Hannah Buckhout.
  • The Polar Bears were able to get a win from Fleming Landau in singles play, as the senior won a tidy 6-2, 6-2 win at number five.
  • But the Polar Bears could get no closer as the Jumbos claimed three of the first four completed singles matches to clinch the win.
