Trinity Completes Series Sweep Against Polar Bears

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin softball team suffered a series sweep at the hands of Trinity with a pair of losses on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Polar Bears drop to 8-11 (0-6 NESCAC), as the Bantams remain perfect in conference play (12-6, 6-0 NESCAC).
 
Game One Highlights
  • Both teams scored a pair of runs in the second inning. Trinity went ahead 2-0, but the Polar Bears responded with an RBI double off the bat of Sydney Lang and JK Bradley scoring on a wild pitch.
  • A rain soaked third inning gave the Bantams the opportunity to plate eight runs and added another two in the fourth.
  • Bowdoin got four runs on the board in the bottom half of the fourth with RBI singles from Lang, Alicia Ross, Ella Jones, and Lilly Armstrong.
  • Trinity closed out the game with four runs in the fifth.
  • Angelina Mayers went 3-for-3, while Lang and Kasey Cunningham were both 2-for-3.
 
Game Two Highlights
  • Trinity scored three in the second inning and another in the fourth before Bowdoin broke through in the bottom of the fifth.
  • Lang tagged a two-run homer to lift to pull Bowdoin within two.
  • Neither team could produce more offense in the remainder of the game as the Bantams took the sweep with a 4-2 game two win.
  • Anna Halliday pitched a complete game and allowed seven hits with four strikeouts and two walks.
